About The Ransom Church of God

Foundation scripture, Psalm 46: "God is our refuge and strength a very present help in trouble."

The Ransom Church of God Universal Fellowship was founded in 1965.
The Pioneers - Bishop Owen Douce and Pastor Ethel Douce

The Call - St Matthew chapter 28 vs 18 - 20.

"Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptising them in the name of Father, Son and Holy Ghost.  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you and lo I am with you always, even unto the end of the age".

Our first place of worship was a rented hall in Tooting, Franciscan Road SW17. We then moved to Welham Road in Mitcham.  For 27 years we ministered in the Tooting and Mitcham area where we shared premises with the Church of England. In 1993 the Lord led us to purchase our own property in Lewisham - 78 Albacore Crescent SE13 7HP.

Over the years the ministry has been a blessing to many people in England and abroad.  People of all ages have given their lives to Christ; young people are given a solid Christian foundation.  Our purpose is to serve our community, country and abroad by feeding the hungry, clothing those who are in need, praying for the healing of the sick and educating people spiritually and academically. We preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ that all will accept our invitation to know him.

The vision continues, the call is honoured and obeyed.

What We Believe

  • In the Bible from Genesis to Revelation as the inspired word of God. That it was written by holy men of old as they were moved upon and inspired by the Holy Spirit.
  • In one God eternally existing in three persons, namely Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  • That Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary. That He was crucified, buried and raised from the dead.
  • That he ascended to Heaven and today is at the right hand of the Father as our intercessor.
  • That all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded by God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sin.
  • In justification, regeneration through faith in the blood of Christ, the word of God and the Holy Ghost.
  • Holiness is God's standard of living for His people, without which no man shall see God. (St. John 3:3)
  • In the baptism of the Holy Spirit subsequent to a clean heart.
  • In speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance, but most of all we must present the fruit of the Holy Spirit as an evidence of God the Holy Spirit dwelling in us as stated in the word of God. (Galatians 5)
  • In water baptism by immersion and that all who repent should be baptised in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.  (St. Matthew 28:19)
  • Divine healing is provided for all who accept by faith, that by His stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5, 1 Peter 2:24)
  • In breaking of bread and washing of the saints feet.
  • In the second coming of Jesus Christ. (1 Thessalonians 4)
  • In giving the right hand of fellowship to every born again child of God. (Galatians 2:8-10)
